The really sad thing is that even as B.C. paramedics are mourning the loss of two of our dedicated veteran paramedics, Premier Gordon Campbell and his government refuse to recognize them as emergency service workers alongside the fire and police services. Instead, the premier and his government have moved the B.C. Ambulance service into the Health Services Authority and treat them like janitors.
This is a direct attack on the wages and benefits of the dedicated men and women who put their lives on the line daily protecting the lives of others.
I am incredibly saddened and disgusted that these dedicated medics have made the ultimate sacrifice even with the treatment they received from this government.
