Dear Brothers & Sisters,
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of Brother Bob Babcock. I have been informed that Bob may have suffered a medical emergency while driving towards his home in Surrey Lake, all details of Brother Babcock's passing are unconfirmed at this time.
Brother Babcock will always be remembered as a humble yet spirited advocate of our Union, Bob is also well known for setting up and launching our Ambulance Paramedics of BC Web Page. He was an avid computer genius, who loved all of the latest and greatest of technology and gadgets. Bob worked in many different areas of the province as a Paramedic and Dispatcher, his last post was in Kamloops as a Critical Care Paramedic which was close to another passion and hobby of his, Surrey Lake Resort.
Bob was passionate about paramedicine and patient care and although he confused many with his tough exterior, those who knew Bob well, know he was all heart.
BCAS and the Union have activated personnel, diffusers and Trauma Counselors to support all member's involved directly with the incident and all others who will be needing assistance in the Kamloops area. If anyone outside of the Kamloops area needs assistance with dealing with this matter, we encourage you to access assistance at 1-800-387-4765.
