National Day of Mourning

Re: National Day of Mourning
Today we recognize the National Day of Mourning, where we acknowledge and remember all those that have been killed, injured, or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents.
The Ambulance Paramedics of BC know what losing members in the line of duty feels like. 10 Paramedics have died in BC while at work. We recognize them annually on the anniversaries of their deaths and also on the BC Fallen Paramedics Memorial that stands on the lawn of the BC Legislature.
Today, we ask you to remember our fallen members and the countless others from around the world who have died or suffered serious harm while performing their work-related duties. We also want to acknowledge those who continue to suffer from illness or injury while still working, whether with mental health or physical injuries.
We would like to remind members that the Peer Critical Incident Stress Management Team is available 24/7 by pager at 1-855-969-4321.
