CUPE Hardship Fund

Dear Members,

CUPE BC has created a relief fund to help CUPE members in hardship as a result of the many wildfires across British Columbia.

If you have experienced a hardship as a result of the wildfires (examples include, but are not limited to: lost home, evacuation, separated from family, special needs assistance, care for pets or livestock) APBC can submit a request for relief funds on your behalf.

To access the funds, please email jessica.chilton@apbc.ca the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address (and mailing address if applicable)
  • The reason for the hardship application

CUPE BC will be donating any unused funds to a charity at the end of the wildfire season.

The effects of the wildfires have taken a significant toll on our Province. We remind all members that supports are available to support your mental health and well-being should you need them:

?      Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM):
1-855-969-4321

?      Homewood Health Solutions Employee and Family Assistance Program:
1-800-663-1142

The BC Provincial Government website also provides numerous resources to support evacuees and those directly impacted by the wildfires as well as provides the most current information on evacuation alerts and orders.  Visit: https://www.emergencyinfobc.gov.bc.ca/

Sincerely,

The Provincial Executive Committee
