President’s Update “I am very happy to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement to implement the important changes to our Public Service Pension Plan…We are now finalizing the written agreement with the Employer and Pension Plan and I will provide full details as soon as possible. In the meantime, be assured that your pension and early retirement benefit is secure.” 

Paramedic Association of Canada Awards “The Paramedic Association of Canada has developed an awards program to recognize exceptional Canadian paramedics and paramedic supporters at the national level. The award presentation will occur during the Paramedics Across Canada Expo on September 20, 2019 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.”
 
Ceremonial Unit Spotlight “Jayne joined the original cohort of the Ceremonial Unit (CU) in 2015 and participated in the first APBC CU event and parade on May 6, 2015 for the unveiling of the BC Fallen Paramedics Memorial Monument on the BC Legislature grounds. ”   

Sleep Series with Dr. Glen Landry (PhD) “Over the next few months we will feature short articles on sleep health from Dr. Landry.  Dr. Landry is a sleep expert and has been working with APBC to develop and deliver the sleep courses that were offered last year.   

Collective Bargaining Update “Collective Bargaining started last month with HEABC and BCEHS on January 14th.  We have five weeks of bargaining scheduled currently that takes us to the end of February (that includes a two-week break mid-February).  The Negotiations Committee and the Provincial Executive Committee are currently meeting five days a week for a minimum of eight hours a day.”
