Member Update

Dear Members:

As you know, a call for nominations went out for Provincial Executive and Standing Committee position on July 3rd with elections to follow at Annual Convention.  Included in this was the call for nominations for the position of Provincial President.  Although three members were nominated for the Provincial President position, two have since withdrawn their names.  This means we no longer need to hold an election for this position as it has now been acclaimed.

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Troy Clifford as our next Provincial President of the Ambulance Paramedics and Emergency Dispatchers of BC.  Troy joins the Provincial Executive Committee with a wealth of experience, having previously served as the Provincial Vice President, Chief Grievance Officer, Regional Vice President, Public Relations Director, Union Trustee and National Staff Representative with CUPE.

The official change of office will occur immediately following Convention; however, I am already working with Troy to ensure a smooth transition and handover of information and current projects.

We are excited to have Troy assume this leadership role of our Union and are confident that he will continue the focus on building relationships and communication in the coming years.

I also want to thank members Kelly Budway and Andre Ledoux for stepping up in their nomination for this important position. It is great to see such interest in the future leadership of our Union.

Again, congratulations Troy on your acclamation.

Sincerely,

Cameron Eby

Provincial President
