Paramedics & Dispatchers Reach Agreement
VANCOUVER, B.C., July 25, 2019–
After seven months of negotiations between the Ambulance Paramedics Ambulance Dispatchers Bargaining Association (APADBA) and the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC), the parties have reached an Agreement in Principle. The new three-year agreement, which is subject to ratification by both APADBA and HEABC, provides general wage increases of 2.0% per year, along with a number of other service delivery improvements.
This round of bargaining was the union’s first as a standalone bargaining association. Previously, CUPE Local 873 members were part of the Facilities Bargaining Association.
Full details of the agreement will be shared with APADBA and HEABC members in the coming weeks prior to each party holding its ratification vote. The current APADBA Collective Agreement expired March 31, 2019; however, the terms and conditions of that agreement remain in effect until a renewed agreement is ratified.
