Passing of Paramedic Kristian Jacobs

Dear Members;

Re:       Passing of Paramedic Kristian Jacobs

It is my sad duty to inform you of the loss of Paramedic Kristian Jacobs. Kristian died unexpectedly this past weekend while at home. Kristian had been a full-time primary care paramedic with BCEHS and APBC since 2012, who most recently was assigned to station 248 in Vancouver.

Our thoughts today are with Kristian’s family, friends and colleagues.

The sudden death of a close member of the emergency services family always hits hard and is one of the top causes of acute mental stress and emotional injury. Support is available through:

Our CISM team at 1-800-303-6066 or

The BCAS EAP at 1-800-663-1142.

It is important that we support each other through this difficult time and know that it is normal and OK to ask for help.

Sincerely,

Cameron Eby
