Seniority Amalgamation Committee

Dear Members;

Re:      Seniority Amalgamation Committee

As you are likely aware, Policy Resolution 2018-08 was carried at Convention 2018 that called for the creation of a committee “which will research possible models for crediting past on-call service for the purpose of amalgamating on-call, part-time, and fulltime seniority into one provincial seniority list”.

An EOI was put out to the membership for their interest in joining the Committee, and we thank everyone who expressed an interest.  At a PEB meeting held on February 14th, the PEB selected the successful candidates.

We are very pleased to announce that the committee will consist of:

Dan Cullon (Full-time)

Keith Tyler (Regular part-time)

Melissa Hansler (On-call)

Amy Chris (Regular part-time)

Greg Heyes (On-call)

Dave Deines (Full-time)

The Committee will begin work as soon as possible as a report needs to be made available to the membership no later than May 31, 2019 as per the resolution.

As has been stated before, the recommendations and report developed by this Committee are non-binding.  There will be no changes to how seniority is accrued or credited as a result of the work of this Committee directly.  The information produced by the Committee can be used to guide further resolutions to Convention and provide direction to the Executive and Negotiating Committee in the future.

Congratulations to everyone selected for the Committee and we look forward to your report.

Sincerely,

Jessica Chilton
