Standalone Bargaining Unit

Dear Members:

It is with great excitement, that I inform you that Health Minister, Adrian Dix, has agreed to create a standalone bargaining unit for the Ambulance Paramedics and Emergency Dispatchers of BC. Unable to attend in person as the legislature is in session, Minister Dix sent a personalized message to our members at Convention which included the well received announcement.

It has been a long road, with many hard-fought battles, but through perseverance and a commitment to our Strategic Plan, we were able to work collaboratively with government to achieve this positive outcome. Our own bargaining unit ensures our Paramedics and Dispatchers have a strong voice in advocating for the essential service we provide to all British Columbians. This move would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the FBA, and we value the relationship we have developed over the last seven years.

We will continue to report on these developments as they unfold, and look forward to the official press release from the government later today.

Sincerely,

Bronwyn Barter
Provincial President
Ambulance Paramedics and Emergency Dispatchers of BC
