Sullivan Mine Anniversary

Dear Members;

Re:      Sullivan Mine Anniversary

Today is the thirteen (13) year anniversary of the tragic loss of Paramedics Kim Weitzel and Shawn Currier.

Kim, 44, and Shawn, 21, both from the Kimberley Station, were responding to a call inside a water-testing shed at the decommissioned Sullivan Mine. Both Kim and Shawn, along with two mine employees, were overcome by a low oxygen atmosphere. All four tragically lost their lives.

Please take a moment today to remember Kim, Shawn and the 8 other Paramedics who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Sincerely,

Provincial Executive Committee
