UHR On-call Wages

Dear Members;

Re:  UHR On-call Wages

As we have communicated to your previously, there are now new rules about how On-call members move through the new UHR wage grid. On-call members must achieve 1950 hours annually to move to the next year in the pay grid. All hours worked, including Kilo pager or Fox standby, are included when calculating contributions to this threshold.

Previously, the parties had agreed on a monthly cap of allowable hours of 162. Upon further discussion, the Union and Employer have agreed to modify the monthly cap to be 178. This higher cap will give On-call employees the ability to have one month per year with no hours worked, and make up for that in the other 11 months of the year. We believe this is a better recognition of the need for members to have some time off

This change has no impact on how Full-time or Regular Part-time members move through the UHR pay grid.

You can find more information, or view the revised UHR consent award on the Union website here: https://www.apbc.ca/members-area/information/uhr-information/

Please stay tuned for more updates as we work through the implementation stages of the UHR program.

Sincerely,
